Kompakt ve Yüksek Kapasite: Radyal alanın son derece sınırlı olduğu yerlerde çok yüksek radyal yük taşıma kapasitesi sağlar.
Ekonomik: Bazı tipler (örneğin, iğneli rulman ve kafes tertibatları) doğrudan sertleştirilmiş miller üzerinde ve muhafazalar içinde çalışabilir, bu da yerden ve maliyetten tasarruf sağlar.

İğneli rulmanlar, ince ve uzun silindirlerle donatılmıştır (silindir uzunluğu çapın 3 ila 10 katıdır ve çap genellikle 5 mm'den fazla değildir), bu da kompakt bir radyal yapı oluşturur.
